On the 29th July 2006 we are leaving to spend 8 months driving through Africa to Umtata in Cape Town. Once there we will then spend 4 months teaching at Nyangilizwe Senior Secondary School from the 14th April to the end of July. After that we may head back up to Botswana to do a couple of months work, either in conservation or at a lodge. Who knows, things are fairly relaxed out here! On this site you'll be able to follow how we are getting on and hopefully find some useful information about how to organise a trip like this.
This is us! We're both 28. This is the most recent photo of us taken in Cape Town at xmas. I don't normally look like a bear though. I'm Dan and I've been a teacher for the last 3 years in Hertfordshire and Amy works in retail management for Waitrose. I've travelled a fair bit in South America and all around Europe. Amy spent 3 months working in Greece. An ambition of mine has always been to travel through Africa and so this is what we are off to do.
